Eureka! California Gold Rush Musical for children

11am, International City Theatre, Long Beach Performing Arts Center, 300 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach. This production is a lively and entertaining musical lesson in California history. It is January 1848, and the first gold nugget is discovered. It’s the California Gold Rush! This vibrant music and dance filled production in brought to life through the wide-eyed wonder of a young boy named Martin, as he encounters the men who were the first on the scene of this magical period in US history. On-The-Beach Easter Egg Hunt, April 15, 2006

Honoring the Earth at El Dorado Nature Center, April 22, 2006

10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Take a walk at the Nature Center and learn about the animals, insects and birds of the area at activity tables set up along the trail. Free.

1:00 pm -3:00 pm. Explore the nearby riverbed for birds and other wildlife a mile downstream. Descend into the channel to clean up the aquatic ecosystem. Free.

Free Swim Lessons, Lakewood YMCA

Splash Week, April 17-20, 2006, Children Ages 5 and under only.
Thanks to First Five LA, free swim lessons for children 5 and under will be held throughout the morning and afternoon of this very special week.

SKIPS-This is the Parent/Child class (6 mos - 3yrs/10 children maximum).
PIKE-This class is for beginners, 3-5 years old.
EEL-This class is for 3-5 year olds that can alread propel themselves 5 feet unassisted with face in the water.
RAY-This class is for 3-5 year olds that can alread propel themselves 15 feet unassisted with face in the water.

Morning sessions: 9:30 -10:00, 10:00-10:30, 10:30-11:00, 11:00-11:30.
Afternoon sessions: 2:00-2:30, 2:30-3:00, 3:00-3:30, and 3:30-4:00.

Spaces are limited. You must sign up in-person and sign up early! All students must be registered before April 10th. Attendance is required to hold a spot. There are no make-up lessons.
