Children's Fall Harvest Festival

Come to the Rancho and enjoy activities and entertainment focused on the unique symbols and traditions celebrating harvest throughout the world. A passport of stories will guide you to craft experiences throughout the Rancho.
OUR FREE AFTERNOON OF ACTIVITIES AND ENTERTAINMENT INCLUDES:
*The Rancho's costume parade, 2:30 p.m.
*From Field to Table - a bountiful harvest display decorated with collage artworks captures the colors and symbols of thankful celebrations from around the world, created by students of Prisk Elem. presented by our contributing sponsors.
*Bring a canned good for our harvest table. Donations will go to Centre Shalom. Since 1977 Centre Shalom has worked to relieve the plight of low income families and individuals in the greater Long Beach Area.
*Main Stage Entertainment includes a world of music and dance. Dunaj Folk Ensemble presents dances from Germany and Hungary; Tiare Productions, the rhythms of Polynesia; Get Reel, the lively steps of Irish dance.
*Hear an African harvest tale told by David Lewis. Attend a workshop prior to the performance and join David on stage as a special participant. *Bring a book you have read and exchange it for another. Visit with representatives from the Long Beach Public Library Foundation.
*Bring your used prescription eyeglasses for collection by Boy Scouts of America, Troop 126 for the Lions Club Sight Night project. Glasses can be dropped off at the Rancho from October 1 - November 2.
*Have your picture taken at the Rancho's World Market Bazaar. *Decorate your frame with a colorful cornucopia.
*Refreshments are available at a reasonable cost.
*Parking is available at the Rancho or by shuttle at California State University Long Beach, Lot 11, located on Palo Verde Avenue. Please enter at the first entrance directly south of the intersection of Atherton Street and Palo Verde Avenue. Continuous handicap-accessible shuttle service to the Rancho provided.
