African Children's Choir Concert, Feb 9th, 7pm
In celebration of Black History Month, the Long Beach Chapter of Jack and Jill of America invites you to attend the African Children's Choir Concert on Friday, February 9, 2007. The choir has traveled all the way from Uganda and will perform for one night only at Grace United Methodist Church of Long Beach, 2325 E. 3rd St, Long Beach, at 7:00 pm.
The African Children's Choir is an ambassador for all children in Africa who have become orphans because of the AIDS pandemic. The choir is comprised of children ages seven to eleven, many of whom have lost one or both parents to poverty or disease. Their voices sing out on behalf of Africa's 12 million AIDS orphans. They represent the future of the entire continent, demonstrating the potential to become strong leaders for a better future in their homeland.
The primary goal of the African Children's Choir is to raise awareness of the need of destitute and orphaned children in Africa and to raise funds for continued development and support of the Choir's relief and development programs. Once Choir members have completed a concert tour, they will return to their homelands with the support, care and education necessary for bettering their future and that of their brothers and sisters. Come out and join the Long Beach Chapter of Jack and Jill of America during the one night performance of the African Children's Choir.
Admission is free, space is limited and tickets are required for entry. Tickets can be obtained by visiting our website www.jjlongbeach.com or by calling (562) 597-2516. This is one concert you don't want to miss!
